butler farm about

Butler Farm Equipment was started in 1989 by Dave and Mike Butler with lots of encouragement by Mike’s wife Deborah and many other family members. Dave and Mike had relatives in the ag business in the form of a company called Butler Brothers who started with Case in 1938 and became, at one time, the largest Case Dealer in BC. We borrowed some advertising and sales ideas from this company.

The company started with the New Holland line, which was already established in the area, and has continuously added short lines such as Farm King, Schulte, Flexicoil, Westward Parts, Kverneland, HLA, Wallenstein, Baumalight, Toro, and Gravely.

Since 1989 we have been serving the farmers of the North Peace.

Roger Tutt, our technical director, joined the company in 1994 and Miranda Braun, our administrative manager, started in 1997.

The loss of all the other dealers in town including Case, John Deere, and Kubota came as a shock to our company as it did to most of the farmers. We took on the Westward Parts line and became one of their largest dealers. We are also an active Kverneland dealer.

We are now a unique Fort St John style dealer serving industry, the oil patch, and consumers as well as our revered true farmers.
